Bioethics
We are committed to bringing a possitive impact tho the communitie whitout having major negative impacts in the envirement, this means being aware of the benefits and drawbacks of products design.
Beneficence:
Radio Shield works for the benefit of others. Based on objective number 3 of sustainable development, Health and well-being, we want to protect the body from the harmful effects of radiation by using liquid that works as a shield against it. In addition, using microorganisms to produce melanin brings advantages such as the absence of seasonal growth restrictions, profitability and respect for the environment. Melanin found in black fungi also works to protect against ionizing radiation, therefore this biotechnology could also be used by healt care providers such as radiologins, nurces, radiology tecnitians and patiens protecting them from x rays or in the enerie industrie by operators in nuclear facilities.
Autonomy:
Radioshield seeks to inform people of the use, warnings and contraindications that the device may have, since we understand that as it is product that is applied directly to the skin it can cause allergies to some people.
In this way, through an app, we want to make visible the overexposure of non-ionizing radiation, with the aim of raising people's awareness and that they acquire the habit of protecting themselves.
Justice
Radio Shield is created taking into account equity. We well know that at the beginning, its production will have high costs so it will not be affordable for everyone, however, we aim that, for its porfitabiility, in the future, the device is affordable to all types of public, that are in risk because of the exposure to electronic devices.
Non-Â maleficence:
Above all, we want to avoid possible damages and effects on the environment and living beings. When making a sprayer we are aware that some of the particles of the melanin solution may remain in the air, which if they have a very high concentration could generate allergies or humidity. In this way, we want to reduce the possible risks by making a device in which the mist is more directed to the body, so most of the product is applied to the skin or clothing and is not dispersed throughout the environment.
Other considerations:
It is important to take into account the realization of clinical trials, this is a scientific research tool used to approve new technologies for human health, guaranteeing safety and efficiency. Clinical trials have four phases:

Phase I: Evaluation of toxicity, tolerated dose and adverse effects in a small group of healthy people not exposed to large amounts of radiation.

Phase II: Efficiency, optimal dose, duration of the effect measured in a group of people affected by radiation.
Phase III: Efficacy of treatment and safety in humans in a large random sample group of healthy people and people directly affected by radiation.

Phase IV: Long-term adverse effects after the product was launched on the market.
